Meet the People Behind the Brand
I’m Jean-François Urbanowicz, co-founder and Senior Project Manager at Urban Design and Ceramics. I come from a multigenerational line of master tile setters, and this company was built to carry forward that legacy—with precision, pride, and performance at the core of everything we do. After years on major sites across Quebec and Ontario, I saw a gap in the market for high-quality installation that developers could truly trust.
Urban D&C was born to meet that need. We specialize in large-scale residential, commercial, and institutional tiling projects, delivering excellence from layout to finish. Our reputation is built on reliability, clean execution, and hands-on leadership. I personally oversee every project, ensuring that what’s promised is what gets delivered—on schedule and to spec.
Urban D&C is a family-driven and professionally run business—rooted in craftsmanship, scaled by expertise. While I lead our site operations and installation teams, my co-founder Catherine brings global strategy, operations, and business development experience that ensures we’re built to grow without compromise. Together, we’ve built something rare: a company that honors its roots while shaping the future of finishing trades.
